What We Do with Your Transcript

You are being asked to send a stranger your academic records. This page is the short, readable version of what happens to them. Last updated 28 September 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

CPA Eligible is operated by Backcross Advising Ltd., a company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. That company is the data controller for everything described below, and info@cpaeligible.com reaches the person responsible for it. Canadian federal and British Columbia privacy law applies to us; if you are in the UK or EU, the GDPR applies to our handling of your data as well.

What we collect

Only what you send us, which is normally:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Where you studied, and which institution.
  • Your academic records, transcripts, marksheets, degree certificates, and credential evaluation reports. These are personal data about you, and in some jurisdictions they are a protected category of education record.
  • Anything else you choose to write to us.

The free eligibility check on this site does not send us anything. It runs in your browser, and the figures you type into it never leave your device unless you separately submit the form.

Why we have it

To assess your CPA eligibility and answer your questions, that is the only purpose. We do not build profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not share your records with Becker, Morgan International, the University of North Alabama or any other partner.

Who sees it

The person who reviews your case, and the service providers that host this site and our email. We do not pass your documents to third parties for their own purposes. If we ever need to share something to progress your case, with a board, for instance, we will ask you first.

How long we keep it

Case records for as long as we are working with you, and for 24 months after our last contact, after which they are deleted automatically, long enough to answer follow-up questions and meet our own record-keeping obligations, and no longer. If you want your documents deleted sooner, say so and we will delete them; you do not need to give a reason.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, email info@cpaeligible.com and we will action it. If you are in the UK or EU, the GDPR gives you those rights formally, and our lawful basis is your consent and the performance of our agreement with you. Withdrawing consent is as simple as asking.

Where your data goes

We are a Canadian company, but this site, our case records and our email are hosted with providers in the United States, so your documents are stored and processed there and are subject to U.S. law while they are. Wherever you live, submitting them involves an international transfer of your personal data, which is why the intake form asks you to agree to it explicitly rather than burying it in a footer.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and embeds no third-party advertising scripts. If we add privacy-respecting analytics, they will be cookie-free and this page will say so on the day they go live.

Security, honestly stated

We keep your documents in access-controlled systems and we do not circulate them. We are also a small operation, not a bank, and no one can promise perfect security. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you.

Questions or a Deletion Request

Email info@cpaeligible.com. We do not require a form, and we do not charge for it. See also our terms and the limits of what we do.
